Duplicate Bridge of Wethersfield

Duplicate Bridge of Wethersfield is directed by Edward Gentino. Ed has been running a duplicate bridge game in Wethersfield for over 50 years. He is a past president of The American Bridge Teachers Association and is a certified ABTA Master Teacher. Ed also runs "Gentino's Bridge Getaways" at eastern resort hotels.
The bridge sessions are held on thursday evenings starting at 6:30 pm at 1st Church Village Community Center Building; 117 Wells Road

December 21, 2011 - Latest word from Ed is that the Wethersfield game is suspended until March 1, 2012. He will be away for the entire month of January and felt February weather would be iffy. So mark your calendar for the first thursday in March 2012. See you then.

December 13, 2011 - Just got a call from Ed. The parking lot is still not finished and no game can be played this thursday December 15, 2011. Ed would like people who read this to call him @ 860-529-9262 and let him know if you would come to a game on December 22, 2011. Don't wait but call him right away so he can make a decision and get back to me with the results. Watch here as to whether there will be a game on December 22, 2011 or not.

December 7, 2011 - Ed called me yesterday with an update. Because of the extremely slow paving operation of the parking lot, there will be no game this coming thursday Decemeber 8, 2011 and probably not on December 15th either. Ed said he would contact me with further updates.

December 1, 2011 - Well I was there. Where was everyone else! Only 4 people showed up but no Ed! Kinda disappointed with no information to pass on. I have no idea what happened and also don't know when the next game will be held. If I learn anything I will post it here.

November 12, 2011 - I just heard from Ed Gentino and he says that they are still working on the floor of the community room and they won't be done before Thanksgiving. SO our next game will be on December 1, 2011. Please make an effort to attend so we can have a good showing.

November 7, 2011 - update from Lee Sekas and Ed Gentino regarding future Wethersfield Bridge dates. There will be no bridge this week on November 10, 2011. We will try to have a game the following Thursday - November 17, 2011. Please check here on or about November 16th for update and final decision. Obviously the following week - November 24, 2011 there will be no game because of Thanksgiving

October 26, 2011 - update from Lee Sekas on condition of Community Room. The room will NOT be available for bridge on Nov 3, 2011. It MAY be available on Nov 10, 2011 and definately WILL be available on Nov 17, 2011. Stay truned for further updates

For those of you who showed up on September 29, 2011 you know there was no game. According to Lee it looks like the Community Hall will be under construction for the entire month of October. So, unless I hear otherwise, the next game will be on November 3, 2011.

Nothing but news for the moment. First for those you don't know - Ed's wife, Marjorie, passed away on August 27, 2011. All his friends send him their sympathy. 2dly there will be no game for the next two weeks as the Community Center Building undergoes renovation. Next game is on September 15th please come.
